Auell Consulting Inc. – Product Design and Engineering Innovation is headquartered in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains just West of Denver. We are a product design engineering consultancy comprised of a team of engineers and industrial designers who have passion for innovation and take a creative, well-rounded approach to product development. Since we have helped to launch many products successfully to market, we believe we can help you too!
We were founded in 2009 by Patrick Auell, a Plastics/Mechanical Engineer and Melissa Auell, a Mechanical Engineer with marketing expertise. Since Auell Consulting’s founding, our team has grown and we have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of companies and entrepreneurs designing consumer products. Projects have ranged from plastic part design, to precision machined metal parts, to glass forming; quite a few of these project have had patents awarded to them.
Our team brings, a wide variety of experience in design and manufacturing throughout a variety of industries. We have worked with many inventors and established companies on projects utilizing a vast amount of materials and manufacturing processes. From this experience we are able to design your product specifically for the best manufacturing method and materials that will give you the desired quality, value, aesthetics, user experience, and function.

Denver Product Design Founder Bios:
Patrick Auell
Patrick is a talented engineer with a meticulous eye for design and detail. Patrick started his career as a product engineer at Rubbermaid and after working as a design engineer and process engineer at several other companies, he started his own company in 2009. He has 22 years of engineering and product design experience. He has successfully engineered numerous products that are on the market today and has many patents in his name.
Headquartered just outside of Denver, Colorado, Patrick owns a product design engineering company, Auell Consulting, Inc. He helps both inventors and larger companies take ideas through all stages of product development, from concept through industrial design, prototyping, engineering, and manufacturing. With a degree in Plastics Engineering from Penn State Erie, a passion for innovation, and a background as an artisan blacksmith and musician, Patrick takes a creative, well-rounded approach to every project to bring it from concept to consumer.
Melissa Auell
Melissa has a degree in mechanical engineering with a background in marketing. She worked for years at The Coleman Company managing a $400M/year product line of Coleman airbeds as well as working as a Global Category Manager for the Sevylor brand managing the brand and product lines across the US, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South and Central America and Australia.
She has launched a multitude of different products, not only for Coleman, but has also assisted many clients with product launches working as the VP of Product Development for Auell Consulting. She has successfully completed many full product development life-cycles of product idea generation, design, project management of cross functional teams, go-to-market strategy, brand strategy and design, and developing global sourcing relationships and partners.
